Winston Walker

August 27, 1956 -
September 24, 2005

Winston Walker, 49, beloved son, brother, husband, and father, went home to our Lord following a sudden illness in September of 2005.

Traveling the rivers throughout the Amazon River Basin, Winston gave encouragement and support to the itinerant pastors serving the Lord at the many churches planted by AMOR. His presence aboard the AMOR Beatriz, his patient translations, laughter and smiles will be missed by all teams having the privilege of serving alongside him on previous mission trips down the Amazon. He served the Amazon Mission Organization as the site coordinator and pastoral liaison.

Winston was born in Little Rock, Arkansas, to parents Dr. Richard and Bea Walker. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Murray, KY, where he graduated from Murray High School in 1974 and attended Murray State University.

In addition to his parents, Winston is survived by his wife Diva of Manaus, Brazil; daughter Patricia of Santerem, Brazil; sons Richard Walker II of Orlando, Florida, Samuel Walker of Santerem, and O. Winston Walker, Jr. of Manaus; brother Boyd and sister-in-law Cida of Cel. Fabriciano, Brazil.
